Your child is grown up now. No longer does she need you No longer will you hold her No longer will you kiss her wounds. Your child has her own life now. No longer will you tell her No longer will you watch her No longer will you house her. Your child is grown up now. She loves you still but needs you less And knows her own mind And can live her own life. The consequences are hers to suffer Knowing every part of her There are some things best left alone For your child is grown up now And you no longer see all of her life And you no longer know all that she does. She may know what you do not And in not seeing that You do more harm than good. For what you don't know can't hurt you Your child is grown up now. She still loves you but Needs her space for her own. |
